In a recent article by the NIH’s TCGA, the cancer digital slide archive (CDSA) was featured. The CDSA is an online resource one can use to access thousands of pathology images from various cancers included in the TCGA resource. One of the main features emphasized in the article is the “deep linking technology” which allows users to annotate, comment, and link interesting parts of an image which facilitates communication between research collaborators. “It’s like Google Maps,” says Dr. Gutman. “You can send someone a latitude and a longitude on of the slides, they click the link, and it goes right to the spot the other person was looking at.”
Also will be rolling out a ton of new features in the coming weeks… so stay tuned.
